Our Nation’s Heroes Don’t Deserve To Be Put Down. We Rescue These Special Dogs That Have Done So Much For Our Country.
Human veterans aren’t the only ones who face challenges upon returning home after their military careers have ended. When military or police K9s are no longer able to continue working, either due to injury, PTSD, age, handler retirement, or something else, they are often too aggressive to be adopted; tragically, these dogs are typically euthanized, even though they have selflessly served their country and communities.
The Warrior Dog Foundation is changing that. We take these special dogs in! If they can be rehabilitated, they are connected with an experienced handler who can adopt them and give them a forever family; if they are not able to be adopted, we care for them ourselves in our state-of-the-art kennel facility for the rest of their lives. To date, we have rehabilitated and rehomed over 170 K9s!

How do we use the funds?
Thank you for your interest in the Warrior Dog Foundation. When you donate to our foundation the majority of your money goes directly to the care of our K9s to cover costs of food, shelter, physical and mental care and exercise and play. Our overhead costs range from 10 to 20% of our total budget. That means 80-90% of the funds we receive go directly to the care of our retired Warrior Dogs. IRS 990 forms for Warrior Dog Foundation are available on request, or can be viewed on Guidestar @ www.guidestar.org. We state a percentage range because historically WDF has had periods where it was managed by volunteers and/or paid employees, and more recently, by a combination of volunteers and paid professionals for services such as bookkeeping, legal assistance and Certified Public Accountants.
