Ruck for Warriors – Fundraiser
Personally, I am an active individual who enjoys the outdoors and physically minded activities. Together we have a rescue pit mix named Mae, who is our pride and joy!
I’m Garet, I’m a firefighter in TX. More recently, I’ve delved into podcasts and have heard multiple people, who are skilled in their crafts, discuss the importance of these working dogs and their abilities. I wanted to support Warrior Dog Foundation to show the appreciation that we have for these dogs, especially the ones who have slipped through the cracks.
We are holding an event we are calling Ruck for Warriors, which will be a 15 mile ruck starting at the Port Aransas jetty’s in Port Aransas, TX. Please consider donating to our event, all proceeds will go directly to Warrior Dog Foundation. You may also come out and participate in the ruck individually or create a relay team!

How do we use the funds?
Thank you for your interest in the Warrior Dog Foundation. When you donate to our foundation the majority of your money goes directly to the care of our K9s to cover costs of food, shelter, physical and mental care and exercise and play. Our overhead costs range from 10 to 20% of our total budget. That means 80-90% of the funds we receive go directly to the care of our retired Warrior Dogs. IRS 990 forms for Warrior Dog Foundation are available on request, or can be viewed on Guidestar @ www.guidestar.org. We state a percentage range because historically WDF has had periods where it was managed by volunteers and/or paid employees, and more recently, by a combination of volunteers and paid professionals for services such as bookkeeping, legal assistance and Certified Public Accountants.
