Hometown Heroes Game 2025

Annually, the Hershey Bears hockey club is proud to host the Hometown Heroes game. This game brings fans, service members, veterans, and community members together to celebrate and honor the military. This special event, dedicated to recognizing the sacrifices and commitment of the armed forces, blends ice hockey with patriotic activities and moving tributes in recognition of their sacrifices and contributions to the nation.

At each Hometown Heroes game, seats are reserved for active military and veterans, making the game accessible to the honored people. Military-themed activities add to the celebration, as representatives from the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, USO and Wreaths Across America set up booths to interact with fans and raise awareness about their missions. This year, Warrior Dog Foundation will be a featured charity.

How do we use the funds?

Thank you for your interest in the Warrior Dog Foundation. When you donate to our foundation the majority of your money goes directly to the care of our K9s to cover costs of food, shelter, physical and mental care and exercise and play. Our overhead costs range from 10 to 20% of our total budget. That means 80-90% of the funds we receive go directly to the care of our retired Warrior Dogs. IRS 990 forms for Warrior Dog Foundation are available on request, or can be viewed on Guidestar @ www.guidestar.org. We state a percentage range because historically WDF has had periods where it was managed by volunteers and/or paid employees, and more recently, by a combination of volunteers and paid professionals for services such as bookkeeping, legal assistance and Certified Public Accountants.
